Coal particulate pollution, on the other hand, kills fewer than 13,000 people per year."Just do the math," they seem to be saying. "It's much safer to kill 13,000 people a year than 70,000 birds." Seriously???
On the Coal Cares website you can find lots of reasons offered why we should use coal for energy rather than those pesky, more dangerous alternatives. Solar is a problem, for instance, because, well, people get sunburned from it. (Yes, that's what it says.) But this comment about the danger of wind turbines was mind-boggling.
