News Weakly - 6/3/2017

Free Speech = Speech That We Approve
Hillary gave the commencement address at her alma mater, Wellesley College, which, she told them, was founded on "the belief that people, you and I, possess the capacity for reason and critical thinking, and that free and open debate is the lifeblood of a democracy” shortly after YouTube banned the latest Center for Medical Progress video exposing more horrors from Planned Parenthood under the order of a California district judge. Or, to put it another way, "No, Mrs. Clinton, neither you nor this judge actually believes that."

Constitutional Confusion
When Ashton Whitaker, a 17-year-old girl who is confused about her gender and thinks she's a guy ("My little baby brother has never read a book, knows one sex from the other; all he has to do is look."), won her appeal to be able to use the bathroom that aligns with her gender identity (because of her apparent delusions of gender), the court ruled that it was her constitutional right to do so. When did "I'm confused about what gender I am, so you all need to let me do what I want" become a constitutional right? Well, you know ... the 14th Amendment! At the same time, Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who represents herself as black, was "disinvited" from a Baltimore Book Festival because clearly she's not black no matter what she feels about herself ... unless she felt she was a he, I suppose. In Arizona, a man was arrested on charges of bestiality for having sex with a horse. Would it make it okay if he self-identified as a horse? Of course not! Where's the humanity? Where's the constitutional outrage? Where's your 14th Amendment now? Sigh. Judges unclear on the concept.

Meanwhile Over in France ...
To muddy the waters even further, so that "marriage" means even less, a gay man was married posthumously to his slain officer boyfriend. How's that for utterly meaningless? Not "a man and a woman", "union" or even "two".

Presidential Relief
When President Trump announced that he was pulling out of the Paris Climate accord, he said, "I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris." And, apparently, Pittsburgh disagrees. Mayor Peduto said, "The people of Pittsburgh voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton — 80 percent."

Well, that ought to be a relief, right? The president is only president of the places that voted for him. Places like Pittsburgh, New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago are without a president and the federal government, I would have to guess, is under no obligation to assist them. "Not my president" is a foolish thing to say, but why would we expect people -- even mayors -- to be reasonable in this day and age? (Hint: Every president, voted for or not, is elected to represent the people of the nation. Every time. I may not agree with Trump, but he wasn't wrong in the statement he made.)

Kim and Planned Parenthood
Apparently Kim Jong Un has approached Planned Parenthood for tips on covering up atrocities. They seem to be more successful at it than he is. Hey, it's on the Internet ... it must be true.

I'm confused as to how the 14th amendment has anything to do with gender identity and public bathroom use.

NEW YORK, NY—Supreme Leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un arrived at Planned Parenthood’s New York offices Friday on a diplomatic mission to learn from the abortion provider’s legendary methods of manipulating the media and covering up human rights atrocities, sources confirmed.

“In North Korea, we are usually the best at everything,” the ruthless dictator told reporters outside the organization’s offices. “But we have to admit that Planned Parenthood is far better than even the great Democratic People’s Republic of Korea when it comes to spinning, distorting, and pulling strings to cover up their daily trampling of human rights.”

“We’re here to learn from the experts,” he added.

must be true..
