The peace-loving Houthis—aligned with Iran—have sent a special gift to the Saudi Jazan refinery. A drone strike started a fire. The strike was because of a claim of air intrusion (not attack) from Saudi Arabia. Because that's what civilized, peace-loving people do. They blow things up when they don't like where airplanes go.
Not On Board the Peace Train
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has rejected Trump's 15-point peace plan for Gaza. They think that they shouldn't have to withdraw from the area as long as their enemy there is still armed. So, Trump loses again. So much for his plan to be emperor of the world.
Is That Even a Question?
Meta Platforms faces 29 states suing over claims that Facebook and Instagram are engineered to be addictive to children. Meta estimates damages could be as high as $1.4 trillion. The states want age restrictions. Interestingly, apparently the states believe that "age restrictions" will solve the problem. That seems naïve to me.
No One Can Be Sarcastic ALL the Time
Come on ... this is heartwarming. A 12-year-old southern California girl walked out of the hospital this week after suffering a rare spinal injury called a "spinal stroke" and being told she'd be paralyzed for life. She plans to pursue a dance career. That really is nice.
Fake News for Your Edification
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is leaving the White House ostensibly to "spend more time with her beautiful young children." The Bee suggests she should be well prepared for motherhood after spending two years answering millions of stupid questions. The WNBA met to figure out what a "woman" was ... and failed (actual story), prompting conflicting reports from the Bee. One says the WNBA has changed their name to ?NBA and the other suggests they consulted with a revered Supreme Court Justice Jackson on the subject. I say they're the same thing.
Must be true; I read it on the internet.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Israel to expect significant disarmament and the end of Hamas as part of a peace deal. Although , the chances that Gaza will stop attacking Israel’s are virtually zero no matter what they agree to now.
I agree that age limits won’t solve everything wrong with social media, but the fact that the problem is being acknowledged and an attempt is being made seems like a step in the right direction.

And people wonder why there are those that argue that Israel shouldn't be forced to lay down their arms and simply hide under their Iron Dome (I've actually heard someone suggest this). I wonder if we weren't in such an internationally watched time if some of these places would be capable of simply wiping out these terrorist groups. But we've become so "civilized" that even terrorists deserve "due process".

Not that I can blame them for not accepting the continued allowance of arms for Hamas. Trump may be good at business deals in the West, but the Middle East is a different type of people. It's really hard to make a deal to stop a war when one side or the other really wants the other completely dead. There is no compromise in the eyes of Hamas that allows Israel to remain and there is no compromise in the eyes of Israel that allows Hamas to remain a threat.

Social Media is clearly addictive. I don't think anyone could argue otherwise. But I don't think Meta is responsible for parents not being good parents preventing their children from being on these platforms. Maybe Meta could do something to mitigate the push, but their product is addictive by it's nature. The only way to prevent the children from getting addicted as parents behave now would be to shut down all social media companies. Age verification has been tried in at least two countries now, and it hasn't really changed anything because parents will simply sign them in for them, or the kids can simply lie. The only thing I can think of that the companies could do to reduce the amount of young users would also reduce their adult users, charge for their platforms, and would probably overall reduce their income, so I don't exactly see them being onboard this plan. The only real, effective, and possible option would be parents actually intervening in their children's lives and not giving in to their every demand or taking the easy route.
