I wonder why they would do that? Well, I suppose, "Everyone's here! Let's do this" might work. But it doesn't work as well for line where Jesus's birthday is celebrated on the same day as someone else's.
I think it was because in 1911 their families were living way out in the boondocks of central Ohio, and probably Christmas was the one time everyone was together.

My paternal Grandparents got married on Christmas day. Had to celebrate their anniversaries on Christmas!

ReplyDeleteMy daughter's birthday is Nov. 24, so this year it again fell on Thanksgiving. (My baby girl is 21 now!!!)

My youngest son's is the 23rd of November, but he's much older than 21.
