Sunday, November 6

It's Sunday.

We're all headed to church to be with fellow believers in God's house.

There's an upcoming election that doesn't look pleasant whoever you are.

So ...
I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. ... Therefore I want men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. (1 Tim 2:1-3,8)
You know ... while you're in church today ...

  1. So are you going to vote for one of the candidates for president that's going to win? I understand if you don't, mind you, just wondering.

  2. No, I'm not. (Trick answer. I already voted.)

    Vote early! Vote often!

  3. Often implies a future vote. No?

  4. Yes, it would ... if I actually meant it. We are actually not supposed to vote often. Just once. :)

  5. How about voting for a candidate that's not going to win, can I do that?

  6. And if Trump had his way, you would vote often.

  7. Some people are of the mind that you shouldn't "waste your vote". I am of the mind that you should vote your conscience. One is a pragmatic view; the other is a principle view.

  8. I'm clearly no fan of Trump, David, but I think that's not a fair characterization. I think he's clearly afraid that others will do that. (His "it's rigged" concern.) I've seen reports that the Left types have done that. But I haven't seen any indication that he would prefer it. On the other hand, I'm not paying attention to the news.

  10. Yeah, I read the headline. "Trump Encourages His Supporters To Vote Twice." I am sick of all the people who don't seem to understand the language or seek to comprehend or know how to be charitable in their discussions. (Not you.) Trump thought that people who voted early (in Colorado) could ensure their vote was counted by going in to the voting booth on voting day and vote again. Their mail-in vote would be voided and their voting-booth vote would be tallied instead. But anti-Trump reporting said, "He encouraged them to vote twice." Sigh. The other day it was "Trump offended by Jay Z's language." No. Trump said, "If I used that language they'd crucify me." He wasn't offended by the language. He was complaining that they have a double standard. Same concept. Don't know the language. Don't seek to comprehend. Don't offer charity to others.

I'll be glad when this is all over.
