Choices

The world tells us, with warmth and a smile,

The Bible tells us "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" (Jer 17:9)

Hmmm ... I wonder which to go with.

  1. Isn't it telling that it is often told to someone facing a moral or ethical dilemma?

  2. But the Bible isn't a rule book or anything like that. Besides now we know so much more about the heart and science than a bunch of Bronze Age illiterate nomads and know that how we feel about things is what makes them right.

  3. Can you put the Bible verse in the same colorful script as the platitude? Maybe that will make it work for the world.

  4. Hey, why not? I made the colorfully scripted platitude. Maybe you're right. Maybe if I make it look "friendly", they'll buy it. (I'm not holding my breath.)

We're always happy to have a friendly discussion with you readers. "Friendly" is the key word here. If it gets too heated or abusive, I'll have to block the comment. Let's keep it friendly, okay?
