I Love my Wife
A short one today. My wife and I are in California for two weeks ... you know ... the Left coast ... well known for a high concentration of liberals. We've noticed another high concentration ... Teslas. They're everywhere. Because liberals are deeply concerned about the planet and believe that electric cars can save the planet. Or something like it. But I saw one with the sticker that read, "I bought this before we knew Elon was crazy." A reference to Musk, of course. Too ... right wing. And my wife laughed when I mentioned it and said, "Carma." I love my wife.

Yes, the West Coast does seem like a whole different country to those of us on the right side of the United States! Hope you have a great visit.
We had a funny Tesla incident while traveling out west. A few years ago, as we were leaving a tourist attraction in Boulder City, NV, some fellow travelers asked us about other sites to visit from there. (They were two young couples of Middle Eastern descent traveling in a Tesla with a CA license plate.) We recommended a few nearby sites that we had just enjoyed ourselves, including beautiful Valley of Fire State Park and the scenic drive around Lake Mead. In each case, after we showed them the route on our map, they lamented, “That’s too far of a drive for our car without charging.” They literally had to keep their trip to a certain distance or their car would fail them. My husband and I thought it was crazy that someone would go sightseeing in the western United States in a car that would only allow one to go between charging stations. We felt pretty smart driving back to PA in our KIA Sorento hybrid--the best of both worlds--while they headed straight to a charging station and then home to CA, I guess.
Gotta love when your spouse gets your humor.
